If you’ve ever thought that the only place you can have a clambake is on the beach in a New England coastal town, then you’re wrong. You can have a clambake anywhere you want; and if you were driving by Mission Bay in San Diego the last week of August you might have seen a clambake in the making and underway.
Ranch Events welcomed the guests to the tastes, traditions, and fun of an East Coast Style Clambake right here in sunny Southern California. The goal was to provide the guests with the best clambake on the west coast and Ranch Events was successful. As New Englanders would say, the event was “wicked good”. Besides the tasty menu, the day was perfect with a view of Mission Bay, a light breeze and of course the sun.

National Banana Split Day is celebrated annually on August 25th!
Classically served in a long dish, called a boat, a banana is cut in half lengthwise and laid in the dish with scoops of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream placed in between. The strawberry ice cream is complimented with pineapple topping, chocolate syrup is poured on the vanilla ice cream and strawberry topping covers the chocolate ice cream. Crushed nuts, whipped cream and maraschino cherries garnish the entire boat.
Today, there are many variations to the classic banana split.
