As an event planner for the last 10 years, I have worked with A LOT of different caterers. Ranch Catering has proven themselves to be extremely professional as well as economical, which is why I will continue to refer my clients to them at every opportunity. I just finished a fabulous wedding at the Coronado Community Center and didn’t want to wait another minute to write a well-deserved review. Our catering manager, Ramon, was wonderful, answering every question via phone and email promptly. And on the day of the event, we had an absolutely stellar staff that I will be sure to request for future events: Giovanni was my fabulous Banquet Captain who tended to our every need and request with a smile. Our bartender, Rick, managed a full hosted bar and was very patient and competent. Our other servers Herbert, Antonio, Sunny and Jake were so sweet….it was like they lived their whole lives to serve us at that very moment! And who doesn’t want service like that at every event? The food was superb, fresh and absolutely delicious. The guests raved! After the dinner was over, I even witnessed one of the young children approach Giovanni and ask if he could please have some more chicken strips. With absolute pleasure, Gio asked which sauce he preferred, then plated up some hot chicken strips and serve them to that sweet boy, who was grinning from ear to ear. What does the Service Charge Cover?
The Service Charge covers all additional operational expenses, which includes: Administrative expenses, Use of kitchen utensils and equipment, Set up and cleanup of your event, minor losses and breakage of china or glassware. All hotel properties and caters applies this, which is common to be as high as 25%. Service charge Is Not A Gratuity. Most of our clients give the gratuity directly to the staff or specifies the amount with the Event Designer.

We just wanted to tell you about our experience on Friday April 24. First, the staff that was at our event was fantastic. When we set up the room at the VFW in the morning it was hard to imagine how it would all look once it was all set up with linens and food tables set up. When we walked in I was overwhelmed and so happy with how beautiful it was. The staff made everything so nice. I had left an example of how the center pieces should be placed and the staff did a fantastic job. I had made small buckets with candy for favors. I wanted one set at each of the guests’ seats. The staff had a better idea and placed them on a separate table displayed so beautifully. Jose asked if everything was set up to our standards. It was and even better. Your staff was attentive to us and all of our guests. The bartender was served food by your staff as well as the manager of the club. Wow beyond expectations. The bartender wanted to tip your staff for such wonderful service but they refused. Our best-man was so impressed at their service he did tip them. The bakery we ordered our cake from failed to provide us with our cake. This caused a delay in the ceremony. Jose asked if we wanted to push back dinner service as the grooms daughter was across the street trying to get a cake for us to serve the guests. We had her return to the venue so we could get married and have dinner served. When the grooms daughter did go back to pick up the cake, your staff was more than happy to help bring it in upon her return. We did have a groom’s cake ordered from Ranch and used it to cut together. Now for the food all we can say is fabulous!!!! We received many compliments. Our guests kept telling us how it was so good. They all asked who catered the event we were happy to let them know. The prime rib was incredible, and as many guests told us, the best they have ever eaten!!! We were so impressed from our tasting experience to the final day of our event with everything you and your staff did, and of course, with the scrumptious food.
