Regretfully but fondly we have to say good bye to meal pick-ups
When the pandemic was in full force, in March of 2020, the owner of Ranch Events, Kathy Monsour, wanted to do something for the San Diego community… something that could hopefully ease people’s pain of being isolated, with the “shelter in place” mandate, and fear of going to the grocery store. She decided to offer many different kinds of meals that were table ready, packaged and could be picked up at the Ranch Events Mission Valley site. Meals were reasonably priced with a good selection of options and, of course, each order had plenty of food for a family or a group of friends to enjoy. This “Pick-up” option was an instant hit and extremely successful.
With businesses now reopening and Ranch Events doing what they do best; cater weddings and special events, it was no longer feasible to offer the meal “Pick-Up” option. After 15 months of offering a helping hand to the community with delicious meals for so many families and friends to enjoy; as of June 17th the meal pick-up option was closed. During the past 15 months Ranch Events received many many thank yous for this wonderful and delicious service. Some of the comments Ranch Events received are as follows;

We recently ordered your meal of ribs, corn, beans, bread, salad and dessert. Pick up service was organized, friendly and efficient. The packaging for the food was incredible, meaning all the hot food was still piping hot when we arrived at home and started to eat and the cold food still cold. All dishes were delicious. Ribs were tender and so good. I usually don’t like too much BBQ sauce, but yours was delicious! Our friend loved the dessert and wanted to learn how to make it. Everything was truly wonderful. We will surely try some of your other meals. Thank you!

Your meals are delicious and plentiful, your website makes it easy to order, I love that you post your menus several days in advance, and your meals are cost-effective. I have three teenage sons, and sometimes I am lost about what to do for dinner, and your service has been so wonderful, and I can afford it. I want to encourage you and your team by letting you know you are making a difference in our lives!!!
I told my next-door neighbors about your service, and she, too has been ordering regularly. Her grandchildren have been living with her since the start of the pandemic, and as you can imagine, meal preparation for a larger group is not easy for her. Ranch Catering has been a lifesaver for her as well!
Ranch Catering hosted our Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Picnic in 2001, and our son’s Baptism Reception in 2003, and your service was great then. THANK YOU for re-imagining your business to continue providing excellent meals to people in San Diego!! My son is now 18 and going off to college next year!

Good morning! I am sending you this email to let you know how much I appreciate your service in preparing the family meals for the public. I am very sad to know that it will end. I am hoping you will continue serving the public. It helps me a great deal! I’m a nurse and I work 12 hour shifts and on my days off I help babysit my 2 beautiful grandchildren. Their parents both work from home but needs my help so they can focus. Your meals that I ordered for the family to enjoy are lifesavers. They used to order food from restaurants through door dash or Uber eats. Your meals are far more delicious, fresh and healthy. I hope you will consider to continue. Thank you for the amazing service you provide and the great food! My family and I are thankful, We literally have been ordering at least 2 x a week since we had to move out of our place to due a pipe bursting and have been staying in a hotel for a while. Kids and husband love the food and It helps me a lot after a long day working at Sharp.

We used Ranch Events for our wedding 8 YEARS AGO! The food and service was amazing then, and remains to this day. I heard on the radio that Ranch Events was offering meals for families of 4-6 for a VERY REASONABLE price. I bit the bullet and had my first meal last Thursday (BBQ Ribs). Not only was the meal reasonably priced for a family of 4-6, but it was enough for TWO DAYS. My husband can’t stop raving about it. In fact, he’ll ask me to check the website to find out the upcoming menus. We’ve taken meals out since. It is great since they post their menus in advance and we can pick and choose to our hearts delight. You can even throw in a dessert if you wish for a nominal additional $5.00. I am looking forward to picking up our next meal tomorrow. What a service Ranch Events is doing for the community of San Diego, especially now in light of the pandemic. It is incredibly generous.
