Brides and grooms who want their guests to fully participate in their big day have recognized it is very difficult to eliminate electronic devices entirely, so many nuptial couples have decided to have the Officiant ask the guests, before the wedding ceremony begins, to “power down” just for the duration of the ceremony. This compromise seems to work well for enthusiastic guests and excited family members who want to take their own personal pictures of this special day.
